The Love of Christ: Commanded, Demonstrated, and Appointed
In this sermon on John 15:12-17, we reflect on Christ’s command to love one another as He has loved us—a love demonstrated supremely in His sacrificial death. Jesus calls His disciples friends, granting them the privilege of intimacy with Him, a relationship rooted in His sovereign choice and grace. This love is not something we produce on our own but flows from abiding in Christ, empowered by His Spirit to bear fruit that glorifies God. As those chosen and loved by Christ, we are called to reflect His love in our relationships, displaying the transforming power of the gospel in our lives.
