Colossians 1v12 The Sufficiency Of Christ To Receive The Mercy & Grace Of God For Redemption

The Sufficiency Of Christ To Receive The Mercy & Grace Of God For Redemption – In verse 12 of Colossians 1, Paul gives thanks to God the Father, who has qualified us to be inheritors of the light. This refers to our redemption, and is one of the benefits of being redeemed. But why does Paul thank God the Father, and not Christ for our redemption? Nathan Tarrant explains how it is God the Father who initiated redemption in eternity past, through Jesus Christ who implemented redemption, by becoming our redeemer. And in doing so, has been showing mercy upon all he predestined in eternity past, for all eternity.
