Building Up The Church Pt2
In this sermon on Ephesians 4v11–14, Alan Clark teaches that Christ gave His church gifted offices not to exalt individuals but to equip the saints and build up the body toward maturity in Christ. He explains that apostles and prophets served as the foundation of the church and have now ceased with the completion of Scripture, while evangelists and pastor-teachers continue their work today by proclaiming and explaining God’s Word. Clark warns against modern movements that wrongly reinstate apostles and prophets, elevating men instead of Christ, and urges believers to hold fast to Scripture. True ministry equips all Christians for service, guards against false teaching, and builds up the church in unity and love under Christ, the only Head.
