Walking in Truth:

In this expository message from 3 John, we explore one of the most searching questions the New Testament asks of the local church: what does it actually look like when the truth of the gospel governs a life? John answers through three contrasting portraits. Gaius, the faithful believer whose sacrificial hospitality to gospel workers marks him as a genuine co-labourer for the truth. Diotrephes, the proud leader whose craving for preeminence silences, controls, and ultimately damages the very church he claims to lead. And Demetrius, the man whose life is so thoroughly shaped by Christ that the truth itself bears witness to him. This is not merely ancient church history. It is a mirror held up to every one of us, and to every local church. The call of the letter is simple and urgent: walk in the truth. Not to earn God’s favour, but because in Christ, that is already who you are.
