Rejection and Condemnation
In this message, we witness the tragic climax of human rebellion and the glorious unfolding of divine redemption. Pilate trembles before the world’s power, Israel renounces her covenant King, and the sinless Son stands silent under judgment. Yet through this rejection, God reveals His sovereign purpose the condemned Christ becomes the crowned King. Nathan Tarrant explains that what man meant as mockery, heaven declares as majesty. In the world’s cry, “We have no king but Caesar,” the covenant of works meets its end; in Christ’s willing submission, the covenant of grace triumphs forever. This passage calls us to behold our King rejected by men, yet reigning in glory, condemned under law yet enthroned in grace.
