The Attributes of God – Wrath
Because God is a just and righteous God (as seen in the last teaching), who is fair in all that he does, it is therefore right and necessary that he treat us all according to what we deserve.
Therefore it is necessary for God to punish sin. If he did not punish sin, he would not be fair, righteous or just.
Now because God also loves all that is righteous and holy, and delights in such things, it is natural then that the God who is righteous and just should hate sin. And it is a good thing that he hates sin, that he hates injustice, that he hates all wrong doing.
God’s wrath therefore can be described as such: God’s wrath means that he intensely hates all sin and he intensely hates all unrepentant sinners.
