Restoring A Fallen Disciple
In John 21:15–17, we see the risen Christ graciously restoring Peter after his terrible denial. This sermon explores how Jesus searches Peter’s heart, humbles his former self-confidence, and draws out a renewed confession of love before recommissioning him to shepherd Christ’s flock. The passage shows that the Lord does not deal lightly with sin, yet neither does He cast off His broken people. Instead, Christ restores fallen disciples by grace, not only to forgiveness but to renewed service. This message points us to the heart of the gospel. Our hope is not in our own strength or consistency, but in the mercy of the crucified and risen Shepherd whose grace is greater than our failure.
