At the cross, the true Kingship of Christ is proclaimed through human mockery and divine sovereignty. Pilate’s inscription—“Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews”—was meant in scorn, yet God ordained it as truth written in three languages for all nations to read. What man sought to silence, God used to declare: the crucified Jesus is the reigning Lord. Nathan Tarrant explainss that even in death, His authority stands unchallenged—“What I have written, I have written.” Here as believers we see that the cross is no accident of history but the decree of heaven, and the blood-stained title above the Saviour’s head proclaims the unchangeable grace of God for His people.
