God With Us-Why The Son of God Had To Come
Christmas is not simply a story of warmth or tradition. It is the announcement that God Himself has intervened in human history. In this sermon, we explore why the incarnation was not optional, but necessary. Drawing from John 1 and Matthew 1, we see that the One born in Bethlehem is the eternal Son of God, who took on human flesh in order to save sinners. Jesus did not come merely to teach or inspire, but to live under God’s law, obey in our place, and bear the judgment our sins deserve.
This message shows that Christmas only makes sense in light of the cross. God with us is not sentiment, but salvation. Through Christ, God has drawn near in mercy, bringing forgiveness, righteousness, and peace to all who trust in Him. The sermon calls listeners to move beyond admiration of the Christmas story and to receive the Saviour who came to accomplish redemption once and for all.
