Progressing in Maturity
Drawing from Ephesians 4:15–16, progressing in maturity is not optional for the believer. It is the necessary outworking of union with Christ. Paul commands us to speak the truth in love, which requires doctrinal clarity joined to genuine charity. Both are essential for growth. Christ Himself is the source from whom the whole body is joined and held together, and as each member faithfully exercises its God-given function, the church grows into spiritual adulthood. Maturity is therefore not measured by sentiment but by conformity to Christ, by stability in truth, and by active contribution to the edification of the body.
